American rv resorts

On the 17th we left Corning and we headed to Talent, Oregon. That is our 16th state. But we had to stop and the hospital because my mom and some chest pain and turns out it was just something that was nothing. So we traveled to Talent. It was a trashy campground but it was all right. I would give it 4 out of 10 stars. My first look at Oregon was awesome all the snow covered mountains and the temperature dropped 10 degrees. And we are heading for Crater Lake National Park. Which i kind of want to see but not that bad.

Heritage rv park

On the 16th we left San Francisco and we headed for Corning, CA. We stopped at the Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield. It was cool to see all of those Jelly Beans and they had these awesome Jelly Beans that where to big or odd shaped and you could buy them and they are called Belly Flops which is a great name. And we met some people that were parked next to us in the Jelly Bean place and they were at the campground. They were really nice people and they had two grand daughters with them and they were fun to hang out with. I liked that campground because it had good paved roads some i had some trikking room. I would give it 7 out of 10 stars because there were some nice people there.

Alcatraz

On the 15th we went down to pier 31 to go to Alcatraz. We got on the boat and it only took 8 minutes to get to Alcatraz. But man was that water choppy there is no way you could swim in it and it is like 40 degrees. I was surprised how close Alcatraz is to San Francisco. It was only 1 mile to land. I loved Alcatraz because of all the stuff that happend and how preserved it is. My favorite part was seeing the air vents that they broke through and escaped. After all of that we walked back to the jeep and left.

Fishermans Wharf

On the 14th we took a ride in to San Francisco to Fisherman's Wharf. We parked the jeep and walked to Nicks Lighthouse which is a street vendor type thing but they had a permanent building. I had the Clam Chowder and it was horrible. We walked around for hours and i got my first look at Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge. We walked about 15 block that day. Mostly just to get to Ghiradelli. On the way i stopped at The Spy Shop and that was so cool they had micro video cameras and hidden stuff. We made it to the ice cream place and then we walked to the worlds crookedest street. And that was so weird and steep. There were so many homeless people that it was disgusting. The streets were so steep and we had to walk them so it was pretty tiring.

Giants game

On the 13th we left Morgan Hill and headed for San Francisco. We stayed in Redwood City just outside of San Francisco. We stayed at Trailer Villa and i would give it 5 out of 10 stars because it was just a parking lot with hook ups. We went to the Giants against the A's. The field was awesome and we where the 2nd to the highest row. But you could see everything and you could hear everything. After the game we had to walk back to the parking garage and on the way back a fight happend. Alright this drunk guy was running his mouth and saying his team is the best and this other guy was walking 10 in front of him and the drunk guy came behind this guy and punched him out when we wasnt even looking and he was out cold we where right behing the guy when he fell to the ground then the drunk guy ran off. So we got a cop (because they are at every corner when a game ends) and the drunk guy was wearing a neon glow in the dark vest so we hope that they got him. And once we got to the parking garage it was valet parking so the guy was bringing us our car he didnt shut the door and hit the door on the colom and he didnt even say nothing when he got out just ran back to his desk. So it was pretty crazy.

morgan hill

On the 12th we left Big Sur and headed for Morgan Hill. We stopped here for a place to sleep and this place is so red neck. There where these people next to use that were fighting for six hours. And they had some tight security in this place. I would give it 4 out of 10 stars and it had a pool but it was too cold.

Hearst castle and big sur

On the 11th we left San Simeon and headed for Big Sur, CA but we had to stop at the Castle because we bought tickets the day before. We just made our tour by a couple of minutes. We got on the tour bus and it took us all the way to the top of this Mountain because that's where this guy wanted to build it. So we got up there and this was the coolest house ever this guy didn't cheap out on nothing. The ceiling was made of pure gold and the pool had bits and pieces of Roman ruins. It had a indoor pool a outdoor pool its own zoo and a huge rec room. It also had its own church. All of this and it was built in 1910. MR. hearsts' father was the first guy to find silver out west and he found tons of it. So thats how he could build it. But after that we started back on the road and headed for Big Sur another thing my mom wanted to do. We got to our SP and it was another dump no hook ups no showers nothing. It was another horrible place. I would give it 0 out of 10 stars. The worst one yet. 2 horrible places in a row i would rather be staying in the walmart parking lot.

San Simeon

On the 10th we left Wine country and headed for San Simeon. I don't know why we went here it was something my mom wanted. But on the way there we drove on the coastal highway and when they say coastal they mean coastal any closer the the water and we would be in the water. The drive was cool for me but bad for my mom because we also had to do some of that cliff driving again so that was bad. But we got to the SP that we were staying at and the place was a total dump the only thing that was good was the beach. We had no hookup and you had to pay for the showers. But we did go see Elephant seal beach which was awesome. These seal weigh up to 5000 pounds that's heavy. We bought tickets for Hearst castle which is a huge mansion but we didn't see it yet

Wine country

On the 9th we started to head out of Kingsburg but we had to stop at the Sunmaid place. We bought a big jar of chocolate covered raisins. And i got my picture taken in front of the worlds largest raisin box. After that we started to head into wine country. We stayed at Wine Country Resort in Paso Robles, CA. I loved this campground it was so nice and so quiet. I would

give it 9 out of 10 stars because it was nice and all but there wasnt very many people there. It was $50 so that was pretty insane. But it was nice.

Sequoia NP

On the 8th we went to the park and man where those so big trees. We had to drive for so long just to get to my first sequoia. And we had to drive all over mountains and it was so cold and i forgot to bring my jacket. We were 6000 feet high which is so cold. We saw some

giant trees like general sherman which is the tree with the biggest volume. the other picture was the first one we saw so we got out of the car to get a pictue of this giant tree. I was so tired at the end of the day from walking all around. It was cool and all but looking at trees for 6 hours is dumb.

Kingsburg

On the 7th we left Lone Pine and headed to Kingsburg which is where the Sun maid Raisin store is. We camped here because this campground is close to Sequoia National park. It is called Viking Rv park which is just south of Fresno. When we pulled in to our campground we saw that we had a flat tire so we had to get a new tire but luckly we had AAA. So while he was doing the tire i was in side watching the finals, the Lakers won that game. I would give that campground 6 out of 10 stars.

Death valley

On the 5th we left Las Vegas and drove through death valley. It was so hot and tons of hills and 8% grade. Which is horrible for a RV towing a jeep. It 6 to 7 hours to get to Lone Pine, CA. And when we were going down a hill and our brakes started burning from all of the weight pushing the RV down this hill. We saw tons of little sand storms and sand twisters. We stayed at Boulder Creek RV park which i would give it 4 out of 10. In Lone Pine there is this NP called Manazar which is where they held Japanese people in world war 2. Just in case there was any spys for japan. We saw that and did a tour of the facility. We were in front of MT. Whitney which is a giant mountain.

Dolphins

On the 3rd we went to the mirage and we saw the dolphin exhibit. We saw tons of tricks and we saw lions and tigers and i got my picture taken. I loved the dolphins because they would swim around jump in the air and catch fish. The lions were cool but they just sleeped and didnt really move. We saw lamas and they were running around and drinking out of the lake. The tigers didnt move and were dumb.

Circus Circus

On the 2nd we went to the top of the strip and We saw The Stratosphere which is one of the newest hotels. We stopped in at the Nascar cafe which has everything Nascar and i did a virtual race against some other people and i came in first. I got the stats and it said zero percent break usage, and an average speed of 178 which the lady said is impressive. Then we walked down to Circus Circus and we saw a part of the circus act which was cool and weird. We had a short trip this time because we had to get something to eat and go to walmart.

MGM

On the 1st we went back to the strip and parked at MGM. We went inside to see the MGM lions which was cool because you could walk under there habitat because the bottom was glass and it felt like you where in there cage. We saw to different lions and i liked the first one better because he was so active. After that we walked across the walk way and stopped at New York New York and we had a pretzel dog and a ice cream. We stopped at a magic store and i bought a magic card flying kit. Then we walked to The Excalibur which looks like Disney world castle. And we also went to M&Ms world which is the biggest M&Ms world in the world. I didnt get anything which i dont know why. We also went to Coka-Cola world which was cool to see all that Cola. In the picture of the buildings, that is New York New York.

The strip

On the 31st we drove down the strip and parked the jeep at Planet Hollywood. Which is right in the center on the strip. I liked Planet Hollywood because it was so clean in front of it and in it. We saw the Bellagio fountains twice which was so cool and the water shot up so high it was insane. We also saw the volcano erupt at the Mirage that was cool and loud and we where across the street and a two story McDonald's. We walked through a couple of casinos and they are just so big and we where surprised to see that there are still penny slots which is very surprising. We stopped and watched some high stakes poker which was neat. And to us it was crowded because it was Sunday but we talked to some people and they said it isn't crowded at all. I loved my first day in Vegas because it is so alive and fun. We also saw the Eiffel tower replica and the arch thing from Paris. we saw Caesars palace and we walked through Caesars and Bellagio which is so fancy and just unbelievably awesome. Everything was just so awesome you cant describe how cool it was.

Oasis rv park in Vegas

On the 30th we left Lake Mead and traveled the next hour to Oasis rv Resort which was awesome. The campground was like a hotel thats how nice it was and the whole thing was paved smooth which ment every day i rode my trikke for an hour, so i got really good at it. Every morning you get a free paper and on the first morning we got free breakfast so that was cool. And they had the most amazing pool ever and the pool was open till 11 at night so we did some night swimming. We didnt go to the strip for the first night because it was saturday so it would have been crowded. We mainly just explored the campground and planed our next couple of days. Which helped alot. I would give this campground 5 out of 5 stars because it was sweet.

Hoover Dam

On the 29th we left Williams and headed to Vegas. Right before we left Williams me and my dad road down route 66 it was cool because they had all of these cool dinners that had sweet paint jobs on the outside. We left the campground and drove for 4 hours to Lake Mead which is the lake that connects to the hoover dam. The dam was so awesome and huge they are building a bridge the goes around Hoover dam so you don't hit all the traffic. We stayed at Lake Mead RV and we went down to the lake and we got to feed the fish and they know when you are going to feed them. Look at all the fish in that picture. The lake provides water for Vegas so when we saw the water you could see that the water level dropped 30 feet which is huge. I would give this campground 4 out of 5 stars because i could ride my trikke.

grand canyon

On the 28th we left Tuba and headed to the Grand Canyon. It was so cool and big, we watched the video of the canyon at the national geographic store. The only bad part was it was packed and we were driving through it in our RV which is 40 feet long with the jeep. I wish we could of seen more of it but it was just too crowded. The view was amazing and you could see the Colorado river and every thing. We had to head one so we drove down the road to Williams, Arizona. Here you can ride on the route 66 and see historic Williams which was built in 1900. We didn't do that on this day. We stayed at an OK campground but i saw a better one that looked awesome. The only thing good about our campground was the showers were good and there was TV. I would give it 3 out of 4 stars

four corners

Yesterday we left La Mesa and headed to Tuba city in Navajo Nation, Arizona. On the way there we stoped at four corners which was so cool. Just think about it once i had one foot in four different states at once and i went through four states 2 times each in 10 seconds. When we first arrived at four corners we noticed that there were tons of Navajo Peolple selling indian stuff. I met this guy that loves Steelers as you can see and he was stationed in Norfolk Va. He was selling home made arrows and they were cool so i bought one. My mom bought some beaded hair clips and something else. We also tryed Navajo Fry Bread which is like Funnel Cake but i liked this better but it would of been sweet if it had chocolate. After Four corners we keeped on going down the road because it was only 12 oclock. We made it a couple more miles untle we stopped at Elephants feet park in one picture look at it hard and you can see the feet. There are 2 feet side by side but we couldnt get them in this picture. While we were there a bus carring tons of people blew a tire and it was cool. We left that and made it to Tuba, we stayed behind a quality Inn which was cool because there was a side walk that goes all the way around the hotel so i had so much fun with the trike. I would give this campground 3 out of 5 stars because no tv and there was these stray dogs that wouldnt leave us alone.

Mesa Verde

On the 26th we finally went to Mesa Verde. It was cool but we were there for 5 hours. We did the tour of Cliff palace which is an easy hike and not very high off the ground, because my mom is terrified of heights. I liked the hike but my mom didnt because you have to climb latters to get to places, i can do it fine because i work with my dad but my mom had trouble. When we got there it was Awesome but Weird because they did this in 1200 Thats just crazy. It was a little hot but not bad imagine being there in 115 degree weather. There was about 100 rooms in that village which is alot for that time. In the picture that is not the whole place there is more but we couldnt get it all in. All in all it was pretty cool but long.

Cortez Colorado

On the 24th we left Moab and headed 2 hours east to Cortez, Co. Just out side of Cortez is Mesa Verde, which is where the cliff dwellers lived. We didnt get to see Mesa Verde on the first or second day staying there because of the weird weather we were having. My favorite part about this campground was that there was a big parking lot next door, so i could get some practice in on my trikke. The place was called La Mesa or something it was all right but nothing good i would give it 2.5 out of 5 stars because there wasnt much.

dead horse pics

That is me on the edge of the cliff and that is the view i am talking about. Amazing

dead horse

On the 23rd we went to Dead Horse State Park. It was so cool it had an awesome view straight off the edge off a Cliff. It was a thousand feet to the ground at least and i sat on the edge off the Cliff with my feet dangling off the edge. And my mom is terrified of heights so she couldn't get close at all. We had a rough day because every one was at each others throats because i wanted to go back to the RV because we had a massive thunder storm coming at us my dad want to go back but my mom wanted to keep on going. But we needed to get back to the RV because our jeep was shutting down when we slowed down. The park was so beautiful and so wide spread. When we got back to the RV it poured down rain like i have never seen it before. Oh we didn't do any thing on the 22nd so that is why i skipped that. I will put pictures of it on in a day. And my computer is now working and i am using it.

angry parents

Yesterday we went rafting which was fun but it went by too fast because the water was to high. We had a fun instuctor that took us on a walk to burn some time. I wish there would have been more rapids because it was so flat. After that we went to go walk down main street and check it out. i got a jeep shirt because Moab runs around jeeps. It was cool but nothing was really open. well i have to end it now because my mom want leave me alone she has been mean, like a rabid cheeta ripping a part a bunny.

Moab

Yesterday we left A Ok and headed for Moab. It is a cool off-roading, hiking, rafting, and ATV rental, town. I want to rent a ATV and go run it some where. We were going to take our jeep on a off road trail but we had to take air filter cap off because it isn't getting enough air and if you run it and dust gets in the carb it will gum it up. So we didn't get to do that but we did do some other stuff. We signed up for a rafting trip which we are going on in 3 hours. After that we went to Arches State Park to see the rocks and stuff. It was a disappointment because as close as you could get was four miles from the arche so you couldn't see it up close. We didn't get any good pictures of the arche but we did get a good picture of the balanced rock

tons of Goblins

Aren't these goblins weird they just popped out of nowhere. they are brittle. because they are part dirt.

A OK

On the 19th we left Shady Acres (i didnt know the name it the last post) RV park to go 2 blocks up the road. It was called A OK campground, my mom liked it but i thought it was horrible. Mainly because you couldnt get any tv and Jay Leno was hosting Terry Bradshaw (the 70s quarterback for the Steelers) so i was mad. And it didnt have any paved roads for my trikke. The only reason we moved is so we could save $5. After all of that we went to Goblin Vally State park to see all the goblins. I dont have the pictures yet but i will today. It was cool but hot, these Goblin things are every where its just weird.

middle of nothing

Yesterday we left SLC and headed through the desert to Green River, Utah. I was a long drive through the desert that was so boring. But before all of that, we went to the Orem mall Where there is the biggest scrapbook store or some crap. So my mom just had to go in there, but there was some good stores there. My mom bought a Sansa MP3 player, like mine. And me and my dad bought a Tikke, it is a curving bike and it is fun. You can look at it at http://www.trikke.com/ . I am getting good at it, but still some practice. We left that and made it to our destination. Its called Shady Days rv it is a nice campground i would give it 4 out of 5 but the bad part was there was not smouth ground for my trikke.

Monday, May 18, 2009

day 2 in SLC

On the 17th we went to Bridal Vail falls which it a huge water fall that you can climb up. There was these kids that climbed up almost all the way. It was cool but it took so long to get there. Then we went to a super market and got steaks UMMM. When we got back to the rv i had to light the grill and i through the match it hit the top shelf it stuck there and i went to go flick it missed and burnt the crap out of my finger. And thats it not much happend on the 17th just slow.

salt lake city

On the 15th we left the KOA and we headed all the way across the state to the salt lake. It took about 5 hours to get there. Oh My mom freaked out when we were driving down this road to vernal because there was nothing between you and the cliff. So she worried her self sick, so she had to lay on the couch. Anyways we made it to the state park and it is called Jordanelle. It is cool here but it takes along time to get anywhere. I would give this statepark 4 out of 5 stars because the showers arent that good. On the 16th we headed in to salt lake city and we went to go see the lake and we had to walk about a half a mile just to get to the water. As soon as we got there my mom slipped in the mudd and dropped her camera. We also went to go see Temple Square which is a huge church stuff and other stuff, as you can tell i wasnt much in to it. The highlight of the whole thing was are leader was a Steelers fan so thats all i talked about.

Dinosaurland KOA

Yesterday we left Rock springs and went in to Utah. We went straight down in to Vernal, UT. We went to a a national park all about dinosaurs and we took a mile hike up to a site where you could see a couple of real bones. That was cool because that was my first real hike up a mountain and i drank alot of water, i was so surprised how hot it was when you start walking. We stayed at a KOA 14 miles from the park. The campground was not that good but we did see a husky. I would give this campground 2 out of 5 stars. But we did have cable :)
I am not going to be able to update every day for a couple of days because i have a virus on my computer and we have to take it to geek squad tomorrow and see if they can get it of. I have tryed everything to get it off but nothing worked. Right now i am using my moms PC and i dont like using this computer.

rock springs

Today we left Cody and drove down to Rock Springs, Wy. It is about 25 miles from Utah. We are going to stay in Salt Lake City tomorrow. But to get to Rock Springs we had to go back through Thermopolis. This campground is so horrible, we are staying at a KOA outside of Rock Springs and it is so boring there is nothing to do here. No tv at all and nothing fun. Right now i am watching Larry the Cable Guy, i have seen this one 5 times but it still funny. I would give this campground 1 out of 5 stars. It would be nice if they had 1 tv channel.

yellow stone pictures

the moose is so cool he came right up to our car and you could see him good.
The other picture is Old Faithful its kind of a bad picture but you get the point.

way too long

Yesterday we went to Yellowstone it took us 3 hours to get there. On the way we saw three bears and tons of bison. When we were pulling in to the parking lot for Old Faithful, it went off. so we missed it by one minute so we had to wait around for a hour until it goes off again. It was pretty cool but it took too long to get there. It shot off for abought 3 minutes and it was tons of water. On the way back to Cody we saw our first moose he was 2 feet from our car. We also saw tons of mountain goats and the most deer we have ever seen in my life. And there was a huge rock that split right down the middle from ice. We had to drive another 3 hours back so we didn't get back until 9 o'clock and around here all the places to eat where closed until we found dairy queen. When we where in dairy queen i saw a mounted Jackolope. They are so cool and funny, a jackolope is a mix between a bunny and a antelope. This is a myth but i hope its true, Ther first person to see a jackalope was Wild Bill Waller in 1828. The jackalope is known to imitate the human voice, like parrots. If you want more pictures of the jakealope just type it in on google. I will put the pictures of the moose and Old Faithful later.

golf and ponderosa

On the 9th me and my dad went golfing, but we didnt have our clubs so we went to a pawn shop and we rented some. I havent played 9 holes in 5 years so i was pretty rusty. I got 60 for 9 holes but we were using clubs from the 80s, my dad scored 40.

Yesterday we left Thermopolis and we headed to Cody, WY. This town is so cool, its a modern town so it has a walmart, arbys, subway, and tons of other stuff. We are staying at Ponderosa campground, which is really nice it is on a stream and is walking distain to main street. I'll give this campground 10 out of 10 stars because it is so nice. Yesterday we went to the buffalo bill museam and it was so boring but i did get tons of steps. ( the thing about the steps is i have a pedometer and i need to get 15000 a day Yesterday i got 20000 steps.) The museam was so dumb i dont even know who buffalo bill is and i still dont.

white out

On the 8th we left Deer park and headed to Thermopolis. On the way there we went over top of big horn MT which was a snow cap MT. On top there was 2 feet of snow but that wasn't the bad part, the problem was it was so windy and when it blew it picked up the snow and made a complete white out. we couldn't see for a couple of minutes so it was scary. After all that madness we got to Thermopolis which is built around the hot springs. We went swimming in the hot springs which smell like rotten eggs because of all the minerals and crap. It felt good at first but when i got out it started burning my skin because i am not use to it being that hot (104 degrees to be exact). We went walking around the springs and we felt the water at the begining of the springs and the water was abought 110 degrees so it was hot. In this one photo where i am laying down on the rock abought 150 feet off the ground, we walked back across the bridge and i looked at the rock and it was held up by two small rocks so that kind of freaked me out.

crappy campground

On the 7th we left Heartland RV Park, and went to Buffalo, Wyoming. On the way we stoped at devils tower which was cool and it was huge we walked alittle bit but not much we saw a husky that looked my old husky. We weren't sure if we were going to make it to buffalo so we stopped at Gilette but the campground sucked. So we didn't stay there we just kept on going to Buffalo. We stayed at this place called Deer Park Campground which was very nice i would give it 9 out of 10. We saw this sign coming to Buffalo that we wish we could have got a picture of and send it to Jay Leno. It said Welcome to the 4-H club and right behind the sign was a grave yard. We went to go eat at Winchester Steakhouse which had the best steak ever and it came with salad, potato, main dish, and a sundae. Which filled me right up.

bear pics

these bears are so cool. And they do look like dogs. And that one is a big bear just so you know.
